The Magic of Thirties

9:22 AM

I have entered my 30's and if you ask me how does it feel? I would say Magical. Everything about getting older is magical, I have noticed so many changes in my body and mind in the past few years that tell me to invest more in myself than anything else. I prefer to talk less and observe more, I choose to stay home and spend time with myself and do the things I love to do or sometimes I am not even doing anything. After entering in my 30's I have come to realize that those who care for you will stay no matter what and those who are meant to leave will leave anyway how hard you try to hold them. Living alone feels like a luxury now. There are some other things that I would like to share here. I am sure many of you will relate to it.

You Don't Care About What People Think

The older I am getting the more concerned I am about what I feel not what people think or say. Although, I have been always open and loud about the things I like or don't like, with every passing year I feel I have become a person who stopped seeking others' approval.

More To Do,  See & Explore

I really don't know why but suddenly I have started feeling that I don't have enough time. The more I see I feel like seeing more and the more I learn I want to go the extra mile or beyond. Time is flying so fast and I feel like catching up with it.  I want to read more, write more, learn more, and explore more.

Filtering The  Noise

I feel with every passing year I am becoming more of a home bird, by which  I don't mean to say that  I don't want to go out and meet people. I just mean to say that I just have learned to cut down the extra noise around me. I am only in touch with people or talk to people who matter to me the most and who have been with me through my worst and best over the years.

Questioning the Norms

I have been this person who always question norms, and whatever I clearly don't understand. But now I ask more questions about so many norms that have been created by society eons ago. A lot of it has to do with the choices I have made in life and also being financially independent. But questioning the norms and doing the things my way or making my own norms and rules have become my favorite thing to do.  I don't really care if people don't like me for asking questions or not doing it the way they want me to do.

It is All About You

Entering into the 30s feels like owning everything, it is all about you. I feel that one should do what he/she feels right not how people expect him/her to. I have everything learned that everything is about you, how you feel it, how you want it, or don't want it. We are grown up in a world where girls are being taught from their childhood to do things in a certain way or behave a certain way. But it takes some good years of experience to realize that it is your life and nobody has the right to dictate to you what you should do or what is good for you. Only you get to decide that for yourself because it is all about you. This took me some time to own everything that is mine but now that I have owned it be it my flows, bad decisions, or achievements.

Don't Be A People Pleaser

The 30s have taught me so many things I have mentioned and if you ask me what is the one thing that stands out.  I will tell this to every girl or woman out there that doesn't be a people pleaser. It will take away a lot of the things from you and you will not even realize it. No matter how hard you try there will be people who will say things you never expect them to say to you. The more we focus on ourselves we become the better version each day and that is what sometimes people don't want us to become. It is always better to stay focused and not get into people-pleasing.

Invest in Your Relationships

The older I am getting  I feel like staying close to my family and meeting them often. I know that only memories will stay with us, how we make our loved ones feel will stay forever. I don't have many friends and I am very close to my family I can't imagine my life without all of them. Each of them has taught me to do better, be better, and stay grounded. Make sure when you have nothing or when you have everything always cherish your relationships, invest everything that you can because it is like nourishing your soul.

Love & Gratitude

I have been lucky to have met so many people over the years at different ages and stages in my life. All of them have taught me so many things. And I feel nothing but grateful.

I Don't Believe in Comparison

Also, I don't understand the language of comparison,  because I practically know that everyone's normal or good is being defined differently and we all have different priorities in life and we all make choices on the basis of our experiences and exposure. I would rather enjoy my journey to the fullest and have a life filled with love and joy. I am here to enjoy this journey call life and make the best out of it.
